Google is bringing powerful new Google Photos features to a wider range of Android and iOS devices.
What the feature won’t do, unfortunately, is allow you to convert standard dynamic range videos into HDR video formats that take full advantage of HDR-capable displays.Separately, Pixel owners and Google One subscribers will soon have access to some new styles in the Google Photos, which now gains the ability to apply these styles to stand-alone photos. Free shipping is also now available on print orders in the United States, Canada, the EU and the UK.
This latest update continues Google’s strategy of reserving premium Google Photos features for Pixel owners and Google One customers in order to add value to its paid subscriptions after ending itsPremium features are clearly marked with a Google One logo within the Google Photos app, giving the company plenty of opportunities to tempt users into paying for the premium upgrade. However, users who don’t want to upgrade will often find similar features available in third party apps.
The updates are rolling out now, so keep checking for updates if you don’t see them yet in your Google Photos app. Google One subscriptions start from $1.99 per month for 100GB of storage.
