There might not be anything more important to the Calgary Flames’ future than getting Jonathan Huberdeau back to his best.
There’s no use pretending that Huberdeau’s first season with the Flames was anything but a disappointment.
To his credit, Huberdeau was always accountable in the media and never shied away from taking responsibility for his struggles. “He’s a proud guy, he wants to do well. There’s no doubt in my mind he’s probably training already, getting ready for next season. As a player, you know when you have a good season or a bad season and you’re not going to blame it on anybody. You know, and you’re going to want to prove them wrong the next year.”
“If you look over the last five years, he’s one of the top-5 players in the NHL,” Conroy said. “We need to get him back to it. How we do that? He made that quite clear when he was asked about it on Tuesday.
