FileIt’s back to school time in Nova Scotia, and for many children that means a return to healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks, available through their school’s nutrition program.
Loblaw to donate $1 from every purchase in support of school nutrition programs. This year, Atlantic Superstores throughout the Annapolis Valley, along with Your Independent Grocer locations, are taking part in the Get To Give Day drive, a new initiative in support of the President’s Choice Children’s Charity, the largest non-government provider of in-school meal programs in the country. In Nova Scotia alone, more than 30 programs will reach 10,000 students.
Lisa Battistelli is Executive Director, President’s Choice Children’s Charity. “We are grateful to our founding partner Loblaw and its customers for their support,” said Battistelli. “We know that children experiencing hunger miss more school, find it difficult to concentrate and experience higher levels of anxiety. This donation will help us fuel even more Canadian students and remove hunger as a barrier to learning.
