Various locations across the Capital Region are hosting free tree-chipping events throughout January. Donate to local charities and make sure your Christmas tree is recycled responsibly.

Jan. 4-5 and Jan. 11-12, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The rest of the time the trees can be dropped off with a donation box on site. Hosted by the Central Saanich Lions Club. Bouncy castle for the kids (weather permitting), a barbecue with hot dogs, hot chocolate and coffee, and firetruck rides, plus a no-sort bottle drive.
