This year, the free event benefits Fort Bend Rainbow Room. Guests are asked to bring backpacks and school supplies for foster children served by the non-profit. While a D.J.plays kid-friendly music from the steps of Sugar Land’s City Hall, guests can meet representatives of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys and visit food booths for thirst-quenching treats."Back to School Splash Bash" at Sugar Land Town Square, 2711 Plaza Dr., Sugar Land. Preza says a crowd favorite of the event, which sees about 2,000 attendees each summer, is The Texas Bubblers. Another trick the pair performs using their U-shaped wands and other apparatus is called the cuatro, in which they form four giant bubbles simultaneously. As she extends the bubbles above the crowd, they’ll last only a few seconds before the children reach up to pop them.If there is time, she says, kids who arrive to the bubble area with wet hands from the misters can practice catching bubbles and learn how to blow a bubble inside another bubble.“It’s a moment of… remembering your childhood and a moment of pure joy.”
