“We’ve played a lot of really good hockey. There’s no need to get all upset over playing two flat periods of hockey. We don’t like it, we didn’t play as good as we can, but that’s a good team over there and let’s not take that away from them.” The work they’ve done in the last month to get back into race has been solid. The club is getting contributions from everybody and the power play has been on fire. The Senators have scored 20 goals with the man-advantage in their last 13 games.“We all enjoy winning and we all want to win games but everybody’s doing a better job of, ‘Okay, we won the game’ ,” alternate captain Thomas Chabot said. “When we lose a game, we look back on what we did, and we’re all aware of what we did.
With a record of 14-15-2 after 31 games, the Senators will need two wins in the next three games to make that a reality. After facing the Jets, the club will host the Washington Capitals Thursday and the Wings Friday before the NHL shuts down until Dec. 27th. That’s why it’s easy to say the loss in Minnesota won’t linger and shouldn’t lead to any kind of downward spiral.
