Shane Pinto had a chance to take care of business on Friday.

“I’m just ready to play hockey, honestly. It’s been a long time and it’s going to be exciting for me,” Pinto told reporters before the club left Ottawa on Thursday. “I feel like this is an advantage for me. I did it last year and I came into camp feeling awesome.Take a look at the club’s depth chart down the middle going into camp and it’s not hard to come to the conclusion that Pinto is pencilled in to be the third-line centre.
We’ve seen only a small sample size of what Pinto brings to the table, but in the 17 NHL games he’s played, he’s looked like he belongs at this level. He’s smart with the puck, he’s good in the faceoff circle and he plays with confidence. “If I play bad, maybe I’ll have to play another one,” Pinto said with a smile. “I think I’m only going to play one game, but we’ll see how it goes.”
“If I look at their resumes, they haven’t played a lot of hockey in the last three years,” Belleville coach Troy Mann said when asked how this tournament will help both players. “There’ve been injuries and the COVID-19 situation.
