League sources told Postmedia that Rocco Tullio, the owner of the Ontario Hockey League\u0027s Oshawa Generals and the Windsor\u002Dbased Rock Developments, has brought Steve Apostolopoulos aboard as one of his backers.
His name emerged in the last week as one of two formal bidders for the Commanders and reports stated he toured the club’s training facility recently before making a bid. The talk is Washington owner Dan Snyder is seeking $6 billion for the Commanders.
Earlier this month, this newspaper reported that Tullio entered his own bid for the Senators before the Monday, March 6 deadline for pitches to be at the offices of New York-based banker Galatioto Sports Partners .Article content Sources say Tullio offered late owner Eugene Melnyk $650 million for the team late in 2021. Melnyk was willing to listen, but didn’t consider it seriously because he had no interest in selling the Senators.
