After appearing together on Friends, Dermot Mulroney opens up about reuniting with his former co-star Courteney Cox in the upcoming Scream 6.
Friends star Dermot Mulroney shares what it was like to reunite with co-star Courteney Cox in Scream 6 after the pair appeared together in the beloved sitcom. Mulroney stars as Detective Bailey in the upcoming sixth installment of the slasher series, which will see Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega return to fend off another vicious Ghostface attack.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Mulroney has now opened up to Parade about what it was like to reunite with Cox, given the pair's shared history in the popular '90s sitcom Friends. Mulroney revealed that it was "so fun" to reunite with his former co-star and that the pair had a discussion in which they concluded that Mulroney's three episodes of Friends were among the best of the entire series.
"It was so fun to talk to Courteney because I appeared with her on Friends. We together decided that the three episodes that I did were by far the most favorite of all the series, which seems weird that we’d then be in a movie together and get to talk about that. But it’s amazing. I was so proud of that designation, even if it was sort of self-ascribed.
Gavin, however, soon became a popular Friends character for his quick wit and humor, traits that then lead to Rachel falling for him shortly after their combative first meeting. Mulroney's character's relationship with Rachel served as a particularly fun sub-plot within the favored episodes, with the actor previously revealing that he turned down the opportunity to shoot three further episodes due to scheduling issues.
Mulroney's reunion with Cox sounds as though it was very sweet and was no doubt a blast from the past for both of them. Cox, who played Monica Geller, previously revealed that she struggles to recall much of her time filming Friends, revealing that she often rewatches episodes and finds herself having forgotten them entirely. Despite this, however, it's clear that Mulroney left a lasting impression on Cox.
