One of the main players in the “Freedom Convoy” says the group never wanted to form the government — they were more interested in opposing it. The convoy organizers only wanted to be “an effective opposition to the Liberal Party of Canada,” Tom Marazzo told the Public Order Emergency Commission on Wednesday.

“We weren’t seeing any opposition at all with the Official Opposition of Canada,” he said. “If the Conservative party had been effective at being an opposition, we may not be in this room today. Instead, they just didn’t oppose anything that was happening to Canadians.”
