The search follows a Sept. 1 incident, in which an unknown assailant attacked two people – a 42-year-old woman and a youth – with a sword.Of the two victims, the youth sustained minor injuries, while the woman received serious, yet non-life threatening injuries. Over that weekend, the RCMP major crime unit followed up on tips, eliminating a number of them. As well, police have inquired around the neighbourhood, including checking in with local businesses to see if there is any relevant video footage.

The P.E.I. Ground Search and Rescue team, along with a police dog, also searched the area looking for any related article. The attacker had previously been described as around 5’10, wearing a dark mask and a green hoodie.
