ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Less than five months after having attempted murder charges tossed due to delays in court proceedings, Mount Pearl's Brandon Chafe is returning to provincial court on new charges Friday, May 3.
Inside the vehicle, police allegedly found a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, a loaded .45 calibre Glock handgun, a bulletproof vest, one ounce of suspected cocaine and $6,115 cash.Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose ;Possession of a firearm with knowledge possession is unauthorized ;A woman was also arrested at the time and has been released pending further investigation.
Chafe was apprehended in Forest Pond, off Petty Harbour Road, and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, threats, firearms offences and court order violations. Barnes was arrested the next day at a residence in Paradise, and charged with aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and two counts of assault with a weapon.
