A new poll by Nanos Research reveals that Doug Ford and the Progressive Conservative party hold a commanding lead in the upcoming Ontario election. The survey shows a 15-point gap between the PCs and the Liberals.

Doug Ford and the Progressive Conservative party hold a commanding lead in the upcoming Ontario election, according to a new poll conducted by CTV News' official pollster, Nanos Research. With less than two weeks until the vote, the PCs enjoy the support of 44.6 percent of decided voters, a nearly 15-point advantage over the Liberal party led by Bonnie Crombie, who stands at 29.8 percent.

The NDP, under the leadership of Marit Stiles, garnered 18 percent support, while the Green Party, led by Mike Schreiner, received 5.5 percent. The Nanos Research survey, conducted nightly throughout the campaign, revealed that while support for both the Ford-led PCs and the Crombie-led Liberals remains higher than in the 2022 provincial election, the NDP's ballot numbers have dipped compared to the previous election. Ford's popularity among male voters is a key factor in his lead, with a significant 26-point advantage over Crombie, securing 52.6 percent support compared to her 26.7 percent. Ford also holds the lead among female voters, though with a narrower margin of 36.5 percent compared to Crombie's 32.9 percent. When asked about their preferred premier, 39.9 percent of respondents chose Ford, followed by Crombie at 26.1 percent, Stiles at 15.7 percent, and Schreiner at 7.2 percent. The survey, which randomly selected 925 Ontario adults, has a margin of error of 3.2 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. This survey provides a snapshot of the current political landscape in Ontario as the election approaches, highlighting the strong lead held by the Progressive Conservatives and the continued importance of male voter support in determining the outcome
