On the Chemainus – Penelakut Island – Thetis Island route, however, sailings between 12:30 p.m. and 1:25 p.m. have been cancelled Monday., wind gusts between 70 km/h and 90 km/h are expected to develop Monday morning, and peak early in the afternoon, according to Environment Canada. “Due to forecasted high winds for the North Strait of Georgia and North Vancouver Island, service on multiple routes in these regions have been cancelled and others at risk of cancellation for today, Monday, November 4, 2024,” reads a notice posted by BC Ferries on Monday morning.
