SaltWire's Atlantic regional weather forecast for October 17, 2023] | SaltWireMABOU, N.S. — A 60-year-old Rankinville man is dead after an all-terrain vehicle crash on a Southwest Mabou trail on Sunday night.
Inverness County District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of an ATV crash on the trail at about 10:20 p.m. According to a press release issued by the RCMP, officers learned that an ATV had been travelling north on the trail, when the vehicle left the road and came to rest in a ditch. The driver, and sole rider of the ATV, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The man was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing, according to Inverness County District RCMP.
