Another period of hot, dry weather is forecast for August, stoking current fires and likely leading to new ones, according to the latest wildfire report from B.C. Wildfire Service

“The wildfires burning across the province require a large number of wildfire personnel and will continue as such until extended periods of precipitation are received across the province,” according to the report.Article contentTemperatures across much of the province are expected to be “well above normal” and peak between Wednesday and Friday, said Philippe-Alain Bergeron, meteorologist at Environment and Climate Change Canada.
The limited rain that fell over the weekend wasn’t enough to significantly impact wildfires, said Bergeron.
