Here's what we know about Netflix's Wednesday season 2 so far.
Netflix has found a new hit in the form of Tim Burton’s Wednesday, the Addams Family series focused on its dark daughter played by Jenna Ortega.
The show is currently planted at #1 on Netflix, and no, unlike many recent Netflix series, it is not meant to be a one-off limited series, and more seasons have been planned already. But “planned” does not equal “will get made” and Wednesday season 2 has not been renewed by Netflix as of yet. However, it would seem Wednesday would have a better chance than most for a second season, given its relatively high critic and audience scores and its performance on Netflix’s viewing hours charts. It may not be the lowest budgeted series ever, but it’s not a sprawling sci-fi or fantasy epic either full of an overabundance of costly CGI. And finally, I think Netflix recognizes that they probably want to nurture relationships with old school talent and new school talent .
So it has a pretty good shot, which may be why the showrunners are talking about future plans for the series already. Here’s what co-showrunner Miles Millar told“We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters and the actors are so amazing in those roles,” Millar said. “Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show, and the idea that Wednesday is trying to forge her own path outside the family is important.
