— Benny Cerra, Christian "Indigo" Perez, Ashley Strong, Britany Raquel Renteria, Kailin Chase, and Gabriel Dreams — were tasked to show up at the filming studio in a full creative look that showcased who they are as an artist. So,Benny went for a dual creative look, painting a mountain sunset view on his forehead, which he explained makes him think of his father, and a cherry blossom scene to pay homage to his mother, who lived in Japan.
All in all, if there's one The challenge made one thing clear and that is that these artists have more talent in their fingers than I do in my entire body, and, TBH, I'm ok with that! But now, let's get to the real tea: The elimination round. After each contestant explained their look to James and opened up more about their backstories, they were tasked with the very first elimination challenge. In just two hours, they needed to create a launch YouTube video for a new product of their choice. Each contestant selected a different product to feature in their video, from James's iconic eyeshadow palette to some blue eyeliner. Despite the crunch time, they all were able to finish with a video of quality.
"The video was a bit of a mess in terms of organization and the transitions," James said of Britany's video. "It felt a little bit scripted," Norvina added. James also had some issues with Gabriel's video, saying, "Choosing my palette was a major, major risk and I don't think it paid off for him."Once the decisions were made amongst the judges, each contestant was sent to their filming room where, in true YouTube meetsfashion, James appeared on a screen.
