Ontario Provincial Police arrested a driver in Blind River after receiving reports of erratic driving and crossing into oncoming traffic.

Ontario Provincial Police say reports of a pickup truck being driven erratically and crossing into the wrong lane have led to an arrest in Blind River . On February 28 at 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a white pickup being operated erratically westbound on Highway 17 , East Algoma OPP said in a news release. The vehicle was reported to have crossed into oncoming traffic before pulling into a gas station at the east end of Causley Street in Blind River .

Officers arrived and observed the vehicle with the driver sitting in the driver's seat. Next to him, on the passenger seat, was a container containing suspected cannabis, the OPP said. Believing the driver to be impaired by drugs, police arrested him. He was transported to the Blind River detachment for further testing. Colin Liddiard, 52, of Sault Ste. Marie, was charged with operation while impaired - drugs. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 10. He was also issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The allegation has not been tested in court and Liddiard is considered innocent unless proven guilty
