Dallas Eakins will be back behind the bench for the Ducks for the 2022-23 season.
The team confirmed it had picked up his contract option in a statement Tuesday.
"Dallas has done this job under difficult circumstances and deserves the opportunity to continue coaching this team," general manager Pat Verbeek said in the statement."We are pleased he will be returning and look forward to a promising 2022-23 season." Eakins, 55, is completing his third season with the Ducks and previously coached the team's AHL affiliate — the San Diego Gulls — for five seasons. The Ducks enter play Tuesday with a 29-33-12 record this season and will miss the playoffs for a fourth-straight season., and avoid posting profanity, personal attacks or harassment.
