BREAKING: The Atlanta Dream have taken Kentucky guard Rhyne Howard with the first overall pick in the 2022 WNBADraft.
Howard averaged 20.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season for Kentucky while finishing her NCAA career with 284 career 3-pointers.
Atlanta made a deal with the Washington Mystics exchanging where the Dream acquired the No. 1 pick for pick Nos. 3 and 14 and a future first-round pick swap. The Dream finished with an 8-24 record, missing out on the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons. This is the second time in franchise history that Atlanta will pick first overall and are hoping Howard’s ability to score on all three levels, athleticism and size will make her an impact player at both ends of the court., and avoid posting profanity, personal attacks or harassment.
