The Thunder Bay skip capitalized on a three-point surge in the fourth end, establishing a 4-1 advantage over Cochrane's Rihanna Third on Thursday evening. She further solidified her lead with another three-point haul in the fifth end, ultimately prevailing in a 7-3 triumph. The match concluded after six ends, with both teams shaking hands.
This victory propelled the Dubinsky team, comprising lead Lily Ariganello, second Bella McCarville, and third Rylie Paul, to a 2-1 record. Meanwhile, Thunder Bay's Lily Wright, who earlier in the day outplayed Timmins' hometown favorite Skey Bergounhon in a 7-5 victory, shares the top spot in the standings with another Timmins skip, Deanna Chilton, both boasting a 3-0 record. Chilton comfortably defeated New Liskeard's Rhya Baker 6-1 on Thursday night. The boy's round robin competition also commenced in Draw 4, but neither Thunder Bay entry emerged victorious. Josh Hari suffered a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Sault Ste. Marie's Justin MacKay, while Thunder Bay's Jacob Curtis fell short in a 6-2 loss to North Bay's Riley Winters.
