ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The City of St. John’s is reminding drivers to slow down in school zones as children are returning to school on Tuesday, Sept.

School zone speed limits will be in effect starting on Sept. 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days.Pennywell Road – Bishop Abraham Elementary SchoolDoyles Road – Goulds Elementary SchoolToronto Street – Macdonald Drive Elementary SchoolAirport Heights Drive – Roncalli Elementary SchoolCowan Avenue – St.

Additionally, the city said drivers should watch for school buses, and if a vehicle stops, they might be yielding to a pedestrian, so proceed with caution and be prepared to stop. Before getting into the vehicle, walk around it to ensure no children are hidden from view, the city also said.
