The 39-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, Akron police say.
AKRON, Ohio — A 39-year-old man was killed when he was ejected from his SUV Wednesday evening on Interstate 76, losing control after colliding with another vehicle and rolling down an embankment.
Police say the man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado west on I-76 near Gilchrist Road and Market Street just after 7 p.m. He changed lanes and crashed into a Volkswagen Passat that also was driving west. The collision caused the Silverado to turn 90 degrees and drive off the north side of the highway, then roll down an embankment. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the SUV, police say.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
