A driver accused of intentionally colliding with other vehicles was arrested in Temiskaming Shores after a spike belt was deployed. Police are seeking dash camera footage of the incident.
A driver accused by police of intentionally colliding with other vehicles has been arrested after a spike belt was used to disable the vehicle. Temiskaming OPP now wants to see any dash camera footage of the collisions and 'erratic driving' involving a white Toyota Rav 4 Sports Utility Vehicle. The rampage occurred on Highway 11 and Highway 65 in the Temiskaming Shores area shortly after 1 p.m., on Monday, December 30.
After the initial collision, the OPP say they made several attempts to stop the vehicle, resulting in a spike belt deployment. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was arrested. There were no injuries reported, however the driver was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Trevor Marchildon, 37, of Englehart is charged with: Marchildon was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on Jan. 6.
