"I do not think I will ever tour again, but I do know I'll do special shows here and there, now and then," Parton said in an interview withmagazine published Thursday."Maybe do a long weekend of shows, or just a few shows at a festival. But I have no intention of going on a full-blown tour anymore.""I like to stay a little closer to home with my husband. We're getting older now, and I don't want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time.

Parton's last tour was her 2016 Pure and Simple Tour that spanned more than 60 cities in the U.S. and Canada — becoming her largest North American tour in over 25 years. Although she doesn't plan on touring, Parton's career is far from over. In the same interview, Parton confirmed she is working to create a rock album after she wraps up work on a film adaptation of the best-selling James Patterson novel"Run, Rose, Run."
