A dog was found abandoned and tied to a pole in a Georgina dog park on Sunday morning, prompting an investigation by York Regional Police into an alleged act of animal cruelty. Police received a call just after 8 a.m. to a dog park near Lake Drive South and Robert Street, where they discovered what appeared to be a Cane Corso tied to a pole. The police released a video from the area showing the suspect walking the dog to the pole before leaving it there.
\The suspect vehicle is described as a black pickup truck with a quad cab, a black roof rack extending to the rear of the truck, and dark rims. Fortunately, the dog, who has since been renamed Winter by the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption where it was taken, did not appear to be in distress or have any injuries. \Police are actively seeking witnesses and anyone with information about this incident.
