The No. 5 seeded Tigers came out strong in first set against the defending national champions and were tied 20-20 before the Spartans went on an offensive run that would carry through the remainder of the match. Trinity Western's strong service game and relentless defence held AUS most valuable player and first-team All-Canadian Lucy Glen-Carter to four kills in 33 attempts. Glen-Carter was second in the nation during the regular season with 368 kills.
