It remains unclear whether a tribunal of the Ontario Labour Relations Board will decide Sunday on whether CUPE’s work stoppage is illegal. “Regardless of that ruling, our members have made a decision. We stand with them on that decision,” he said. “Our members are now in a situation where their rights under the constitution have been legislated away from them and where they have an ordered collective agreement that condemns them to poverty. What that will mean is many will have to make difficult decisions about whether or not they stay doing those jobs,” he said.
