More than 150 sites across Toronto are opening their doors to the public for free this weekend as part of “Doors Open Toronto.” Sports, music and theatre venues are among the sites participating in the annual event. Here are some of them.

More than 150 sites across Toronto are opening their doors to the public for free this weekend as part of “Doors Open Toronto.” Sports, music and theatre venues are among the sites participating in the annual event.

Here are some of them.From centuries-old buildings to newly constructed ones, the public has a chance to explore more than 150 sites across the city for Doors Open 2025. Here are some of the participating sites.At City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square, in addition to behind-the-scenes access, the public can also enjoy family-friendly activities. Among the highlights is the 27th Floor Observation Deck, which is only accessible to the public during Doors Open. The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is located at 375 Morningside Avenue and is open on both days between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. It has two internationally sanctioned 10-lane, 50-metre pools, a world-class diving pool, a four-court gym, and an indoor running track. Daniels Building at 1 Spadina Crescent is open on both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city says the building is a merging of 19th- and 21st-century architecture. It was once the place where insulin was manufactured. The building is currently the home to the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. The historic Don Jail at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital at 1 Bridgepoint Drive is open on both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Gothic-style building remained open as a jail until 1977 but is now part of Bridgepoint Hospital’s new campus, serving as the administrative building. The Ismaili Centre Toronto at 49 Wynford Drive is open on both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It features a crystalline prayer hall roof above a low wall of white bricks. The centre is situated in the Aga Khan Park. This is the Ramp Lab at The Kite Research Institute. It is located at 550 University Avenue and open on both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The city says it is the most advanced medical research facility in the world, housing the Challenging Environment Assessment Lab. The recently opened St. Lawrence Market North will be accessible to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is the historical home of the Saturday Farmer’s Market. The north building was redeveloped as it was underutilized. The brand-new head officer of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is open both days between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The city says the building, considered as one of the most sustainable buildings in North America, has cascading water walls and a large, naturally lit atrium, providing stunning views of the Black Creek ravine. OCAD University’s Rosalie Sharp Centre for Design at 100 McCaul Street is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public can visit shops and studios and buy art at a student-run marketplace. The Performance Studio was added in 2019. R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant at 2701 Queen Street East is open on both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dubbed as ‘The Palace of Purification,’ It was constructed in the 1930s and is the largest of the city’s four water treatment plants, providing an average of 400 million litres of safe drinking water. The Chapel Royal at Massey College is located at 4 Devonshire Place and is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to the city, the post-modern building was constructed in 1963 and houses one of only three Royal Chapels in Canada. Osgoode Hall at 130 Queen Street West is open both days from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is the home of the Law Society of Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
