“It’s disappointing, but at the same time, I feel like it’s just an honour to be able to play in front of so many people,” said Henderson. “I’m just trying to make the most of it. You have to wonder after such a strong performance here in 2017 and then winning the title in 2018 at the Wascana Golf Club in Regina if Henderson isn’t too much pressure on herself because she wants so badly to have success and be the hometown hero. Sitting at minus-7 as she made the turn after a birdie on No. 9, Henderson made had back-to-back pars on the par-5, 528-yard No. 10 and a four on the No. 11. Then, her round went sideways on No. 12 when it took her three shots to get down from the front of the green at the par-4.
“I tried to take some deep breaths and regroup a little bit and it just took me longer than it usually does for some reason. Sometimes it’s just like that. I was pushing for some birdies down the stretch and it would have been nice to get one on No. 18. I kind of feel like that hole owes me.”“I fell back pretty far today so I have nothing to lose,” Henderson said.
