After several years of discussions, it’s “wonderful to see the work being started," he said. “When this project is completed, it will be a renaissance for Bear River." As the design work continues and the distribution network is laid out, plans for the system will be presented to the public at a future information session.
He said the fact the project involves two municipalities , Bear River First Nations, and the provincial and federal governments, makes it rather complex. Gunn, who represents the Bear River area, said they have faced obstacles over the last seven years, but this isn’t uncommon when dealing with so many levels of government and key community partners.
He said the project is very important to the overall future of Bear River and will help draw residents, businesses, and tourists to the area.
