Dennis Rodman's daughter, the NWSL's highest-paid player, strengthens World Cup bid in Spirit's win over the Wave; Alex Morgan scores for San Diego
Trinity Rodman looks ready to assist Alex Morgan this summer, when the United States takes aim at a third consecutive World Cup title.
The 5-foot-6 ½ Rodman’s powerful strides put to mind Kylian Mbappe, the men’s World Cup champion from France. She drove the ball long distances, outsprinted Wave players to through passes and ran down opponents who had the ball. Does this Trinity compare with the martial artist and hacker deluxe Trinity, who out-contorted and outfoxed foes in “The Matrix” movies? Perhaps — if her teammates, whether with the Spirit or the U.S. national team, control the midfield as they did Saturday, affording Rodman ample room.
