Although the diving board appeared to be in good working order on Labor Day, Cleveland Heights City Council members sought additional estimates on the cost of repairs to the rest of the "aged-out" Cumberland Pool. They continue to sort through allocations for remaining American Rescue Plan Act funds, with $3 million tentatively earmarked for parks and recreation. The city has to allocate all funds by the end of 2024 and have them spent by the start of 2027.

“Neighborhoods and business districts are much more eligible now” in terms of ARPA guidelines, Cuda added.that nearly all of the funding proposals on the city’s “wish list” looked like they would qualify, although some “deeper dives” were planned. In the meantime, council asked for some additional information from the city administration about other potential costs.
