The custom wood cabinet manufacturer was forced to shut down after a virus disabled its computers.

KREAMER - The Snyder County custom wood cabinet manufacturer that was forced to shut down after a virus hit its computers is expected to be back in full operation by next Thursday, the general manager said Friday. The restart of operations will be staggered beginning Monday, general manager Rod Hunter said. The source of the virus is unknown but is believed to have originated overseas, he said. It may have been in the system before it was detected, he said.

A group of experts helped Wood-Mode remove the virus, restore much of the data that had been lost and install new safeguards. The company’s emails have been made more secure, he said. Wood-Mode not only will return to full operation but will increase capacity by 15 percent, Hunter said. That will necessitate additional hirings, he said. The financial impact of the shutdown will be minimal since no orders were lost, Hunter said. The laid-off employees were encouraged to apply for jobless benefits.
