Sudbury Performance Group curating acts at two Sudbury locations for July 1 entertainment
“We have programmed twelve musical performances in two locations for SPG’s Canada Day offerings,” said SPG President, Mark Mannisto. “These are all really wonderful local acts. We want to show everyone what incredible musical talent we have, right in our area.”
“Just imagine floating on your inner tube or on your stand-up paddleboard on Ramsey Lake and listening to Cassandra Young belt out some Barenaked Ladies,” said Mannisto. “Or, you’re sitting on the patio at Fionn MacCool’s enjoying a cold beverage and an appetizer and listening to Randy Smith’s songs and stories about Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip. It’s going to be a great day!”
“For me, being Canadian means celebrating diverse cultures, unique traditions, and a strong sense of community,” she said. “This event is an opportunity to celebrate what makes our country unique.” Young will be performing with Monochrome from 2 to 3 p.m., and with 21 from 4 to 5 p.m. Other bands playing at William Bell Gazebo are, from 12 to 1 p.m., Chad Rivette from Brothers North; 1 to 2 p.m., Brent Rumford; from 3 to 4 p.m., Whiskey Trip; from 5 to 6 p.m., Tyler Dokis; from 6 to 7 p.m., Restored; from 7 to 8 p.m., Naked Soul; and the day at the park finishes with The Bluez Brothers Showband Review from 8 to 9 p.m.
