Cape Breton West Islanders. - Jeremy FraserDARTMOUTH, N.S. - The Cape Breton West Islanders wrapped up the first half of the Nova Scotia Under-18 Major Hockey League season with a loss on the road on Sunday.
The Islanders were defeated 8-3 by the Steele Subaru Majors of Dartmouth at the Zatzman Sportsplex in Dartmouth. Cole Chandler scored three times to complete the hat trick, while Luke Foster, Jacob Sanford, Tristan LeBlanc, Carter Davidson, and Vincent Radford also added goals for the Majors.Majors' Joseph Hawco made 38 saves. Cape Breton West's Neil MacLean stopped 33 of 41 shots.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, two second-period goals from Cape Breton West’s Alex Christmas weren’t enough as the Islanders fell 5-2 to the Steele Subaru at Zatzman Sportplex.Rhyah Stewart stopped 53 of 57 shots for the Islanders, while Subaru’s Brandon Lavoie made 22 saves. After the Christmas break, the Islanders will host the league-leading Weeks Majors at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood on Dec. 27.
