As reported in the Cape Breton Post on Aug. 29, union members voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike as contract negotiations were at a standstill. The union, which represents support staff in departments like administration and finance, voted 93.5 per cent in favour of a strike. A press release sent on behalf of both parties on Friday said a tentative agreement has been reached.
