Manager Andrew Chapman stands in front of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on George Street in Sydney. The funeral home is marking its 100th anniversary this year and is inviting people to a free family-fun celebration complete with a bouncy castle, hamburgers and live music. People can even climb inside the hearse to take a look. Chris Connors/Cape Breton PostSYDNEY, N.S. — Funeral homes don’t usually have bouncy castles, hot dogs and live music but that’s exactly what you can expect to see at T.W.
While funerals are typically sombre occasions, Saturday’s celebration is a chance to enjoy some food and refreshments, listen to performances by duo Donnie and Jinx and pianist Flo Sampson, and explore the property. Chapman said the family’s long history of comforting families during their time of need continues to this day.
