She recently competed at the Royal Canadian Legion Games and is preparing for the start of the high school track season. CAPE BRETON POST FILESYDNEY, N.S. — Track star Ella Bottomley is pretty fast, but she’s always looking to line up against someone even faster.

She faced some fast ones at the legion games earlier this month and gave her under-18 competition a run for their money. Bottomley’s time of 2:14.41 at the legion games was about two seconds ahead of her previous personal best. She finished the race behind Kyla Martin of South Simcoe , Mandeep Sangha of Alberta , and Maya Baechler of British Columbia .COVID cancelled the previous national track meet, so the recent one was her second legion games appearance after a debut in Sydney the previous year.
