Teams are divided into two four-team divisions. They will play each team in their own division with the top three qualifying for the playoffs.

The field also includes teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Charlottetown Islanders representing New Brunswick. It is the first national championship since 2019 when the host Chatham Ironmen defeated Dartmouth 3-2 in Miramichi, N.B.
