The Habs will have some more forward depth in the lineup for a must-win game tonight against Tampa Bay.

Claude Julien confirms Paul Byron’s returnApril 2, 2019

Byron suffered an upper-body injury in a fight with Florida Panthers defenceman MacKenzie Weegar on March 27 and missed the next two games. He has 15 goals and 15 assists in 54 games this season for the Habs. Kotkaniemi was a healthy scratch in Saturday’s win over the Winnipeg Jets. The 18-year-old rookie has 11 goals and 34 points this season, but hasn’t scored since Feb. 21.

The Canadiens enter play Tuesday one point behind the Carolina Hurricanes and two points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
