Moneris says 57% of all consumers use the full balance, 35% spread it over multiple purchases and 8% either leave a balance or don’t spend it in the same year as their initial purchase. Businesses place their biggest gift card orders in March and July , representing a third of all cards sold. Smaller, more frequent orders are made leading up to the holidays in October , November and December .
