Bubba Wallace asserts that police wouldn't target Confederate flag ban protesters: 'You won’t see cops pepper-spraying them and shooting them with rubber bullets, will you?'
Wallace said any fans NASCAR loses because of the Confederate flag ban will be made up by new consumers exposed to the sport for the first time.
“It’s their rights for peaceful protest my man. It’s a part of it," Wallace said."But you won’t see them inside the racetracks where we’re having a good time with the new fans that are purchasing their tickets, purchasing their favorite drivers’ apparel. You won’t see it flying in there."and a sign, “Defund NASCAR.” A pro-Confederacy group that claimed responsibility for the flyover said it plans to repeat the action at other NASCAR events this year.
