It was just his second goal of the season and he pointed skyward on his way to high-five his teammates.
Even the team he scored against held meaning for MacPhee. It was during the Mooseheads' third-round series against the Phoenix six months ago that MacPhee had to step away from it all to be by his mother's side in her final days. "My mom cared so much about me she wouldn't tell me any details through the whole process," MacPhee said."She knew I was playing hockey and she didn't want it to be in my head. It just goes to show how much she cared about me. She knew hockey was so important and it would've affected me mentally to know she was home that sick.
