Waterloo won three of four on the road to take over top spot in the Great Plains East Division.
The Waterloo Buck scored twice in the top of the ninth inning on Thursday night, breaking open a 2-2 tie, and went on to double up their hosts 4-2 at Port Arthur Stadium.
Lucas Terilli singled to start the Border Cats ninth, but Waterloo closer Chaney Trout shut the door, retiring Kyle Morrison and Cole Ketzner to end the contest. The Cats went on to load the bases, but reliever Landen Harless was called on to face Morrison and stuck him out on a 3-2 count. Ganon Archer got the stat for Waterloo , allowing one run on two hits and three walks, striking out seven.
