In their search for a new head coach, the Ottawa Redblacks have narrowed the list of candidates to three.
As first reported by TSN’s Farhan Lalji, Postmedia has confirmed Bob Dyce, Mark Washington and Corey Mace are the three finalists for the job. “He’s one of those guys you’ll run a 40-yard dash in a 30-yard room for,” said Williams. “He had a speech one day and he was like, ‘I don’t want to play with guys that eat with utensils. I want to play with guys that eat with their hands.’ That’s some violent stuff to tell a bunch of men. That gets you hyped.”
Mace is a fast riser in the coaching ranks who is talked about in glowing terms. He was named the Toronto Argonauts’ defensive co-ordinator in January after spending 12 years with the Stampeders – six as a player, followed by six as their defensive line coach. The Alouettes are also looking for a head coach. Danny Maciocia, who took over for Jones early this past season, has said he would go back to being just the general manager.
