.BenSPLATT dropped the lyric video for his winning song from NBCSongland.
Titled"Everything I Did to Get to You," the emotional power ballad was written by, and finds the Broadway star looking back on the long road he took to reach a happy ending with a new love.
"All the hearts I ever held just held me back/ I've been bruised and burned but somehow I'm intact/ All the times I thought I might've reached the end/ I'd do it all again/ Everything I did to get to you/ Everything I did to get to you," Platt croons on the chorus while backed by a gospel choir. "I feel like, particularly in relationships, I've gotten to a lot of crossroads where things that you've been holding on to that have all this negative connotation, you slowly realize, like, one at a time, like, why they were necessary and why they happened. So that resonates [with me] for sure," Platt dished upon hearing the song, which was originally titled"Everything It Took to Get to You," for the first time.
