Police seek information after downtown gunfire

Belleville police are asking the public for help with an investigation into an incident involving gunfire in the downtown core on Saturday morning.

Officers responded to an area along the west side of front street at 1am after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting the sounds of gunfire.Several specialty units, including the Criminal Investigations Division, Forensic Unit, and Emergency Response Unit were called in to assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective-Constable Rachel Terpstra at 613-966-0882, extension 4177.
