Janine Beckie scored a pair of goals as Canada edged Chile for their first victory at Tokyo2020.

After missing a penalty kick in the 19th minute, Beckie would finally open the scoring as she drove a shot past Chilean goalkeeper Chilean Endler. The 26-year-old doubled Canada's lead in the 47th minute as she got behind Chile's defence and made a move around a diving Endler before putting it in the net.

Chile would get a goal back in the 56th minute as Shelina Zadorsky was given a penalty on a VAR review. Karen Araya would get Kailen Sheridan to go the wrong way to cut Canada's lead to 2-1. With the win, Canada sits atop Group E with four points after opening the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Japan. Great Britain takes on Japan on Saturday.
